This pattern is a great stash buster pattern as it only takes a small amount of yarn, either fine DK or 4ply/Finger weight to make a bauble. The pattern includes instructions for knitting a large bauble in either a DK yarn or sock yarns to cover a ball approx the size of a foam tennis ball or a small bauble knitted in sock or fingering weight yarn to cover a ping pong (table tennis) ball.
